There is no longer any doubt that Microsoft has embarked on a mission to transform the way we work, even more so now that teleworking has become the rule for many, General Manager of Microsoft Teams at Microsoft, used the “Latest Innovations in Microsoft Teams” session to showcase new features that will improve the way we collaborate, present and engage audiences with SharePoint development.
Gone are the days of awkward Teams meetings where one person’s face took up the entire screen because the others were too shy or unprepared to activate their camera. Nichole showed how the new Dynamic View setting will automatically adjust your meeting experience based on the attendees and content displayed. When people join the meeting or turn on the video, start speaking or giving their presentation, Microsoft Teams will react intelligently and adjust the layout to optimize the viewing experience.
You will always have an option to select the view that suits you best: gallery, extended gallery, news, together mode and a new view, Gallery on top . The Gallery view at the top should allow users to keep eye contact with other participants by pinning their videos to the top of the screen.
Large-scale meetings, webinars, and events in Microsoft Teams
The anxiety of sharing your screen or giving a virtual presentation is something we could all do without. Now, you won’t have to worry about sharing the wrong screen at your monthly executive meeting or messing up awkward transitions from one presenter to another during your next presentation.
With PowerPoint Live in Teams , you can better prepare, anticipate what’s next, and know what others are seeing. Your speaking notes, time, upcoming content, and a view of attendees are all available on one screen. You can even allow attendees to view content at their own pace.
Planning to take it to the next level with studio-quality production from your home office? Presenter mode puts you in the front row of the presentation for more dramatic effect, or lets you use other layouts like Deferrer to balance your video and side-by-side content. Nichole’s demo of the layout showed how attendees will be able to see the presenter in real time without being distracted from content presented on the same screen.
Webinars and live events
Are you tired of having to use a multitude of tools, applications or event agencies to organize your virtual events?
Microsoft Teams webinars offer powerful features for presenters and drive audience engagement while being as easy to set up as a regular Teams meeting. Host your webinar with a personalized registration experience, automatic invitations, and the ability to allow attendees to join the webinar with the click of a simple link. Features like real-time polling, live feedback, chat function and moderated Q&A will facilitate discussion and can minimize distractions with improved moderation controls.
I know from experience how frustrating it can be to have to go back and forth between different programs for the sole purpose of hosting an interactive webinar. Having all of these features in one window will make it much easier to produce and host quality events.
When the event is over, you can integrate your Teams webinar with Dynamics 365 to deliver basic follow-up discussions or more complex relationship marketing campaigns. Microsoft Teams webinars will be able to accommodate up to 1,000 interactive participants and be streamed in read-only mode to 20,000 viewers.
Microsoft Teams Connect is a new feature designed to make it easier for your team to collaborate with people outside your organization. Now you can share channels with outsiders and enjoy all the features of Microsoft Teams—chats, meetings, collaborate on apps, share content, and co-edit content—all in your main Teams view.
Nichole insisted at length that the power and reach of events remains strong, even in this new virtual climate. With clients like NBC Sunday Night Football and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) using Microsoft tools to engage audiences everywhere, there’s no doubt attendees are eager to find new ways to connect. and collaborate.
